Monroe Roosevelt Zip Singlet

This singlet is inspired by the Roosevelt Hotel which is situated in the heart of Los Angeles, above the Hollywood walk of Fame. The Roosevelt Hotel first opened on May 15th, 1927 and was named after the 26th American President - Theodore Roosevelt. It once was also home to superstar Marilyn Monroe who did her first ever photoshoot at the Roosevelt Hotel for suncreen/toothpaste. Her spirit is known to haunt the Tropicana Bar and can be seen lingering on the back of the singlet..

Griffith Observatory Zip Singlet

This singlet is inspired by the L.A Historical Landmark and icon - The Griffith Observatory. The Griffith Observatory was first open to the public on May 14th, 1935. The observatory was named after Colonel Griffith J. Griffith who donated 3,015 acres of land surrounding the observatory to the City of Los Angeles in December 1896. The Griffith Observatory is home to the Samuel Oschin Planetarium which was made famous in ‘Rebel Without a Cause’ (1955) which featured the Hollywood legend - James Dean. The Plantarium shows script from the movie is featured on the back of the singlet..

Formosa Cafe Zip Singlet

This singlet has been inspired by The Formosa Cafe which is a restaurant and bar founded in 1925 and located at 7156 Santa Monica Boulevard at the intersection with North Formosa Avenue, in West Hollywood, California. The restaurant has a long history of movie star and film industry patronage due to its proximity to studio lot across the street, which began as the United Artists lot and was later owned by Warner Bros. Generations of movie stars such as Humphrey Bogart and Clark Gable have eaten meals at The Formosa. Frank Sinatra is reputed to have spent many nights at the Formosa in the 1950s, pining over Ava Gardner. The iconic neon Formosa sign can be seen on the panels of the singlet and the iconic lobster featured in the logo of the restaurant is also featured on the singlet.. you might even uncover a few stencils of the famous golden Era celebs who graced The Formosa on the front and back of the singlet…

The Chateau Marmont zip singlet is inspired by the Chateau Marmont. According to American Lifestyle Journal - Town and Country Magazine.. “For 90 years, Hollywood's Chateau Marmont hotel has kept guard over Sunset Boulevard, providing a discreet haven for celebrities, rock stars, writers, and artists to let loose and be themselves in private, away from prying eyes. It might not have been the most glamorous or expensive hotel in L.A. but it certainly was—and still is—the most infamous. Anyone who was anyone in this town had a Chateau Marmont story to tell. "If you must get into trouble, go to the Marmont," Columbia Pictures president Harry Cohn once said.. The 90210 Zip singlet has been inspired by Los Angeles most famous suburb.. Beverly Hills. Parked outside one of Beverly Hills most expensive retail stores ‘House of Bijan’ is a Bugatti Veyron 16.4. The flashy yellow and black Bugatti is symbolic of Beverly Hills luxurious reputation which is reflected in the colour palette of the singlet. The owner of the yellow and black Bugatti is the deceased owner of the ‘House of Bijan’ Bijan Pakzad. According to bijan.com, “Bijan was wise and voraciously charming, possessing the daring innovation of a true pioneer. He originated the embodiment of ‘luxury’ ahead of the world that had not even begun to understand the precise essence of the tenet. ….’

Long Beach Zip Singlet

The Long Beach zip singlet was inspired by the seaside vibe of one of L.A’s most famous beaches. The illustrations and typography of the singlet has been inspired by the classic Hollywood 1950’s holiday postcards as this was the location for many family trips during the Hollywood Golden era..

Runyon Canyon Zip Singlet

The Runyon Canyon Zip Singlet has been inspired by one of L.A’s most iconic fitness locations - Runyon Canyon. According to Talent Agent, April Lim, mentioned in the ‘Hollywood Reporter’ that the biggest thing Runyon has going for it, though, is its spectacular view of L.A. “It makes you connect with this wonderful city that always seems so disjointed and spread out when you’re alone in your car,”. The Santa Monica Pier singlet was inspired by the iconic Santa Monica Pier which is featured on the front and back of the singlet. The long, narrow Municipal Pier opened September 9, 1909, primarily to carry sewer pipes beyond the breakers, and had no amenities. The short, wide adjoining Pleasure Pier to the south, a.k.a. Newcomb Pier, was built in 1916 by Charles I. D. Looff and his son Arthur, amusement park pioneers. Today, it is one of the most iconic amusement parks in LA and was featured in the iconic movie Forest Gump (1994)…
